Description
When the Cultural Center opened in a familiar location and the DWAL became a part of it, that was exciting news to me personally. Attending school there as a young child, I met a real art teacher. She visited once a week for a brief session. Jane Flurey explained the strange impulse to be creative with colors and lines that was a puzzle to some of us. She simply assured us it was 'alright' to draw and color the 'unseen' as well as the 'seen'. That was the fun signal to be imaginative and enjoy the process of being an artist. Always with a desire to experiment with techniques and mediums when working when common methods became stale...there was the process of impulse to explore. I've practiced the routine for a lifetime.
