Description
To me, art is an expression of the joy of living. I have been drawing as far back as I can remember, but didn't seriously start painting until the early sixties. My life has been busy being wife, mother of four, and a Registered Nurse.
While living in the Panama Canal Zone for twenty-three years, I took art classes at the local college, as well as studying with other local artists.
When my husband retired from Civil Service we moved to Dothan, Al in 1984, I joined Dothan Wiregrass Art League and have taken various classes and workshops from local artists and at Wallace College. Also classes from nationally known artists Juli Betts and Joseph Bohler in Myrtle Beach, SC.
I believe art should be a positive expression of freedom, joy, and beauty. It is an interpretation of feelings of all the God-given assets of this earth life, according to an individual's ability and desire to depict any aspect of it.
Every so often there is something deep inside of me that forces me to paint. I see paintings everywhere I look, beauty everywhere. I imagine a painting in so many everyday places.
