Beginning the month of July, 2012, the DWAL will be sending out the Newsletter by e-mail. Due to the ever- rising cost of postage and the continuing decline of the revenue coming into the DWAL coffers, the decision to deliver the newsletter electronically was confirmed at the May 2012 meeting. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Dothan Pavilion Art Walk on April 7th, 2012, and a very special thank you to Ms. Angela Wade Turner of Angela Turner Events, and to Ms. Kendall Sirkis, Director of Retail Management for their invaluable help to making the event a great success. Nearly $600,00 dollars was raised for the DWAL Scholarship Fund. Thanks again.

Our scholarship recipient for 2011, Richard L. Tabor, gave a very fine demonstration during the July meeting of his work completed this past school year.  His work in the art field was some of the finest we have seen from past recipients.  He plans to continue in the art field for the coming year and is interested in applying for another scholarship from DWAL in the future if one is offered.  Good going Richard from us at the DWAL!

The Dothan Wiregrass Art League is an organization of local artists who have banded together to promote art in the community. DWAL sponsors art shows, exhibits and workshops. Many of the artists teach weekly art classes to the community. For more information about classes, call 334-792-9655.
