The Dothan Wiregrass Art League is pleased to announce our fall art show "Expressions", will be held at the Wiregrass Museum of Art, 126 Museum Ave, Dothan, AL. The exhibit will open on October 13, 2011, and run through November 26, 2011. We will hold the registration and intake of art on September 29 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the main entrance to the museum. We will require a three line biography and the name of the artwork due at registration. Artwork must be prepped with hardware for hanging .

The fee is $25.00 limited to one piece of art and you must be a member of the Dothan Wiregrass Art League. There are a limited number of spaces for the exhibit, so don't be left out, get your check in to hold your space!

All of us at the DWAL wish the new officers good fortune for the coming year and we want to thank outgoing President, Jane Potts, for her hard work and dedication in helping to make our art league what it is.

You are invited to participate in the Back Street Art, an outdoor art show sponsored by the Dale County Council of Art and Humanities, the Ozark Chamber of Commerce, and the Potting Shed.  This is a juried show and cash awards will be presented the day of the show.   Show hours are form 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday, October 1, 2011.  Deadline for entry is September 14, 2011.  For more information go to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Our scholarship recipient for 2011, Richard L. Tabor, gave a very fine demonstration during the July meeting of his work completed this past school year.  His work in the art field was some of the finest we have seen from past recipients.  He plans to continue in the art field for the coming year and is interested in applying for another scholarship from DWAL in the future if one is offered.  Good going Richard from us at the DWAL!

The Dothan Wiregrass Art League is an organization of local artists who have banded together to promote art in the community. DWAL sponsors art shows, exhibits and workshops. Many of the artists teach weekly art classes to the community. For more information about classes, call 334-792-9655.
